The Waterfront Gallery ARI
Exposed utilities in the ceiling and spatters of spray paint on the exposed concrete floors sit in stark contrast to large architecturally designed white walls and luxurious soft furnishings. ‘Industrial Chic’ best describes the interior fitout of this incredible, centrally located, waterfront property, the perfect showroom for contemporary art.
The Waterfront Gallery, as the name suggests, sits right on the Yarra’s Edge, minutes from the CBD, with panoramic views of Melbourne. It really is an astonishing location and one I’m grateful to call DC Gibbins HQ.
Over the past 12 months, in addition to pursuing my own art practice, I have launched ’The Waterfront Gallery Project’, an artist run initiative. The Waterfront Gallery ARI creates opportunity for unrepresented Artists to exhibit their work in high quality gallery space at minimal cost, giving them valuable experience in the exhibiting process and great exposure to the Melbourne art scene.
The Waterfront Gallery ARI is located on the ground floor of 100 Lorimer Street Docklands. This is a new, luxury building in the Yarra’s Edge precinct and the gallery is spacious, with 100 lineal meters of display wall, adjustable gallery lighting and 5m ceilings.
The Gallery is open from Wednesday to Friday, from 11am to 6pm but you can visit anytime by calling ahead and making an appointment with Victoria, the Gallery Manager (details below).
We are open to submissions and project proposals and will discuss the timing and cost of exhibitions on a case by case basis. The venue is also available to hire for occasional events, fully licensed and accommodating up to 500 guests.
